Well it was a beautiful fresh mulching weekend. We live in the yard and garden and even my son loves to plant things. I finally found some planters that I like that are large enough but don’t weigh 50 lbs. – these are plastic but look like terra-cotta. Instead of filling it with a ton of dirt and random flowers, that may or may not survive our very hot, due west front steps, I chose a large tropical hibiscus that is tall and full enough to fill the planter in its own pot. It thrives on sun and heat, and I just placed it into the larger planter. I can pull the entire plant out if needed. I also keep a plastic watering can sitting out near the flowers so that it will fill with rain water and I can easily use it for watering.

How low maintenance is that?
